The First-Year Experience (FYE) is the entry point for KCC students who are attending college for the first time. Sometimes getting started is the hardest part! Don’t get discouraged, FYE is here to help you figure it out. The 7 Steps MUST be completed prior to the first day of school.
Please make sure that you read all instructions before completing requirements. If you skim through the paragraphs, you will probably miss important steps in fulfilling all required steps.

2: Take your COMPASS Placement Test
3. Check your UH Email everyday for your New Student Orientation (NSO) Date. We will be sending an email as well as a post card in the mail, assigning your NSO date.
4. Apply for FAFSA. If you need assistance on completing your FAFSA, please visit us on campus on the ground floor of the `Iliahi building. The Financial aid lab is open Monday – Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
5. Clear ALL Holds such as TB and MMR (Your TB test must have been administered after January 16, 2014 to be valid). You should also check your MyUh Portal for any other holds that may be specific to your account.
6. Attend your New Student Orientation where you will register for classes. You must have taken both your Math and English portion of the Compass test as well as have all of your health records submitted before you attend your NSO.
